2024 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Unlimited Rubicon

If you had to choose a vehicle to go to fight in a War, the Wrangler Rubicon will probably be one of the best choices you can have with its power, fast speed, tough construction, medium size, off-road capability, and flexibility to take off or replace again doors, hard top, and other external parts. The new Jeep Wrangler 4xe Rubicon plug-in is ready to help you win any war or have a fun weekend riding on trails and off roads connected to nature.

The legendary Jeep Wrangler is the original icon of adventure with a refreshed style for 2024. The new Wrangler features a collection of models to choose from, newly redesigned exterior design elements, and updated features inside and outside, including one of my favorite models, the Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

Driving the Wrangler you need to be careful with its power, this is a very powerful machine as you press the accelerator you can feel a strong response when driving forward or in reverse.  I almost didn’t have to touch the accelerator to start driving as the engine started rolling just by changing the automatic transmission speed to drive or reverse.

The new 2024 Jeep Wrangler lineup offers a range of legendary 4×4 models offering great off-road performance, adventurous style, and 270 gas horsepower for the Rubicon 4xe model or 375 hybrid horsepower combined.

Wrangler Rubicon 4xe ready for adventure

With seating for five passengers and its attractive design, one thing is for sure, the Wrangler continues to be the tough adventurous car for those who like unbound adventure and power, especially when you drive the Rubicon trim model I am test-driving, one can enjoy full power and a good sense of being inside nature.

The Wrangler is a heavy car with about 6,600 pounds of gross weight which helps to keep it very stable on any curves or off-road. The fast speed of the Wrangler Rubicon model is designed for those who like power and adventure. This is a very fast car ready to tow or pull anything with a Receiver Hitch with the strong capability of Wrangler 4xe, with a powerful 3,500 pounds towing capacity and a factory-installed winch.

The new Jeep Wrangler Rubicon 4xe is specially designed for the most extreme adventurous drivers. The attractive and powerful Rubicon includes 17-inch x 7.5-inch machined wheels with black pockets. Easy-to-use four-wheel-drive controls and a lot of smart and safety features.

The gas model Rubicon is fully off-road ready and it has good efficiency, but if you want to go to the top of the line, when you add a 4xe hybrid engine to a Wrangler Rubicon, then you are talking huge power and efficiency.

Test driving the Wrangler 4Xe off-roads in Florida demonstrated its ability on difficult terrain, maintaining the authenticity of a pure all-terrain tough vehicle.

I like the strong steering power and the huge power you feel in the four wheels. It will be almost impossible to get stuck on any road and you can also pull and tow other cars that get stuck in the off-roads.

The exterior design is very attractive and looks young and powerful. In the interior Uconnect 5 with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display is standard on the Rubicon 4xe for a great view of its controls, maps, connectivity, and other important features.

You can notice its electrified nature showing the latest advances in driving assistants, safety systems, total connectivity, and advanced technological elements. The Wrangler 4xe is a great off-road car leaning towards electrification.

PHEV plug-in hybrid electric

The new Jeep Wrangler 4xe is powered by a powerful eco-friendly gasoline-electric engine model. 4xe models help to save and preserve the environment by using electricity and gasoline at the same time.

This 4xe Jeep is a PHEV, a plug-in hybrid electric vehicle, with a powerful electric motor and a gas engine that work together. The driver also has the option to switch between three different driving modes to use these two engines combined or separately.

4xe is the most advanced powertrain ever developed for a Jeep Wrangler maximizing efficiency and eliminating range anxiety with 49 miles per gallon equivalent (MPGe) while delivering 21 miles of pure-electric operation.

The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon 4xe that I am test driving is a very powerful and efficient SUV when its battery is fully charged, taking advantage of its electric and regular gas powertrains working and producing power together.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe powertrain integrates two electric motors and a 400-volt battery pack with a fuel-efficient, turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine and TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission. This configuration maximizes the efficiency of the hybrid propulsion components and mates them with the Wrangler’s world-renowned and proven driveline.

The new hybrid Wrangler Rubicon 4xe Plug-in Electric is not your traditional wrangler, it is part of the new trend of electric and hybrid cars of the future. Even if the Wrangler 4xe has live axles, a manual transfer case, and removable doors, it is ready to be charged plug-in electric and you can drive it in the all-electric mode without using its gas engine.

The Wrangler includes a sealed and waterproof battery pack and electronics that can perform in tough conditions like fording creeks and streams up to 31.5 inches in depth.

Engine with three e-select drive modes

The Wrangler Rubicon 4xe is powered standard by a 2-liter turbocharged DOHC PHEV Jeep Wrangler engine, combined with an 8-speed gearbox automatic 8P75PH PHEV transmission and 4.10 Rear Axle Ratio

The 2.0L Turbo engine delivers impressive torque for outstanding off-road performance.

The TorqueFlite Eight-Speed Automatic 8P75PH PHEV Transmission is mated to the 2.0L I4 DOHC Direct Injection Turbo PHEV engine that comes equipped with 4xe models. This transmission uses a new generation of computer controllers that process data faster and coordinate transmission operation with the PHEV engine.

The Wrangler 4xe is the Industry’s first Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with a Front and Rear Locking Differential. A 17-kWh lithium-ion battery pack, regenerative brake booster, and eight-speed automatic transmission work together to send impressive amounts of power and torque to each wheel, maximizing the capability of every mechanical component.

The Wrangler 4xe operates in three different driving modes, Hybrid mode combining its gas and electric powertrains; Electric mode as an all-electric SUV, and eSave driving mode using only the gas engine and saving the battery power for later use when needed.

The eSave mode can be helpful when you know you can’t charge your Wrangler soon, and you need to preserve electric power as much as possible. Electric mode is more efficient but is less powerful and it can be used to save gas.

The Hybrid mode gives you the best performance and best fuel efficiency by using both gasoline and electric engines together.

The Wrangler plugin hybrid is equipped with a start and stop option that automatically shuts off the engine when the car stops. The power and dynamics of this PHEV Jeep propulsion system make this Wrangler, the most efficient and modern Wrangler ever.

The new Jeep Wrangler is very safe and reliable with passive and active safety systems for powerful protection for the passengers. Blind spots, rear-view cameras, monitoring of moving objects in the “blind” zone, and a complex of airbags among other safety features ensure you are driving a very safe and efficient 4xe Jeep.

Standard on all Wrangler models are first- and second-row side curtain airbags, which complement the driver and passenger front airbags and front-seat-mounted driver and passenger side airbags.

Power is never a problem as the 4xe Jeep Wrangler Rubicon is fun, powerful, and ready for adventure on any terrain with 270 horsepower gas engine or 375 hybrid horsepower combined.

For the adventurer driver, the Wrangler is a highly capable off-roader and rugged-looking car but is now also a very efficient PHEV hybrid.
